MAPESI

Modelling of Air Pollutants and EcoSystem Impact (MAPESI) is a research project which aims to determine the emission, atmospheric concentration and deposition of species SO2, NOx, NH3, NH4, O3, and heavy metals Pb, Cd, Cu, base cations Ca, Mg, K and Na, for Germany over the period 2005-2007 in order to improve present critical load values. Thorough understanding on these critical loads and the effects of exceedance for various ecosystems is essential for the development of national policies for pollution abatement.
This project is carried out for the Umweltbundesamt (UBA), Dessau, referred to as UFOPLAN Forschungs- und Entwicklungsvorhaben 3707 64200, and by the German title Erfassung, Prognose und Bewertung von Stoffeinträgen und ihren Wirkungen in Deutschland.
